Before big businesses started at the turn of the century (best example would be the railroad companies) America was a nation of small business owners. What we're seeing is something more akin to a re-emergence. A new book that came out of Amazon, the 4-Hour Workweek, is a sign that even men (who are not minors and obviously not women :) ) are also moving into the realm where they run their own businesses. Individuality is considered a prime asset and running one's own business enables people to run things as to how they see fit, instead of being told by others how to do it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
