Things are progressing well as we start your new, free Small Business Chamber of Commerce.

The intention is to become an app for local chambers to provide a real service to people in communities across Colorado who are starting in a new direction with their career, starting a new project or campaign, or starting a new business.

We'll have our first monthly "Big Event", free to exhibitors and free to those who attend once our Denver Facebook hits 1000 members. We are almost there, you can put us over the top if you will "Like" our http://Facebook.com/Small.Business.Chamber if you haven't already, and follow the link there, join our Denver Group, and invite your Facebook friends in Denver to do the same. Let me know if you'd be interested in being our coordinator with your local chamber of commerce for a SBCC Group in your area.

Our Franklin Circle Alpha Group is having our first official meeting next Thursday, after that I'll be working with the members to help them each form their own Franklin Circle. Let me know if you might be interested, we still have a couple of seats open. If you'd like to start a Franklin Circle with your friends, attend our free Community Room College session "How to start a Franklin Circle and why you should," or invite me to give the talk at your business, neighborhood, church or other group. See http://meetup.com/CommunityRoomCollege

Sunday, February 13 at 3 p.m. the Denver No Label Meetup will have our second meeting. The purpose of the group is to encourage more civil conversation in politics. I'm going to poll our Small Business Chamber members after the meeting to see if its good for the SBCC for me to continue my work with No Labels. If you have thoughts about this one way or the other, please join us. http://nolabels.org/

Life's short, let's get started!

Much thanks to Richard Oppenheim and Ken Wyble for launching the new South Denver IDEA Cafe yesterday at Koelbel Library. Their next meeting will be in February, when they will make a final decision about whether to meet once a month, once a week, or never again. :)

Thanks to the magic of modern technology, your new, free Small Business Chamber of Commerce now has a daily newsletter focused on startup and small business. (See the link to the left here on this page.) Read it for a few days, and then let me know what you think of it. The real test will be how many new "Likes" we get from the link to our Small Business Chamber Facebook Page http://Facebook.com/Small.Business.Chamber

We are back downtown to Panera Bread for the Small Business Chamber's Denver IDEA Cafe startup workshop next Friday (Jan 21), if you'd like to attend there is more information and an optional RSVP to make sure you have a seat at the brainstorming table at http://meetup.com/Denver-IDEA-Cafe

The new Franklin Circle Alpha Group still has a couple of open seats. If you'd like more about it, or more about how you can start or join another Franklin Circle focused on your needs, please attend one of the free information sessions. Next week there will be free info sessions at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday (Jan 20) at Perkins, just south of I25 on Colorado Blvd, and another at 4:30 p.m. at Panera Bread, 13th & Grant right after the IDEA Cafe. For more see http://www.communityroomcollege.org/

Hope you have a great week. If it gets off to a good start for you, great! But if you get stuck, give me a call, OK? Let's get started!

Mark Skousen and Ev Sequeira will be our speakers this afternoon at the Denver IDEA Cafe, the Phil Perington will share with us at the combined Community Room College and No Labels Meetup at 4:30 p.m. Join us for either or both!

We have a great Franklin Circle Alpha Group coming together. If you want to make continuous learning part of your life, this is a good way to do that in a very enjoyable and effective way.

We are looking for leaders for the IDEA Cafes, Franklin Circles, and Big Events the new, free Small Business Chamber is starting this year across the state. Let me know if you'd like more information.
No Labels is having a meeting with Dottie Lamm here in Denver next week, see it listed December 13 under the "Events" on http://nolabels.org/ My goal with this group is to increase the informed participation in the 2012 Colorado Caucuses. http://www.cocaucus.org/

Life's too short for any of us to learn from just our own experience! Hope to see you soon, or just call me and let's catch up on the telephone.
